Description: SIGNED by the author in black ink on the title page, without deication. Scarce as a signed first, but this obviously read copy has a neat former owner's signature on the front endpaper and a blind stamp on the half title. It has the usual foxing to the edges of the text block, the fault being the publisher's choice of paper. The stained grey top to the text block is nice and clean, though. The unclipped jacket is protected. It is a tight firm binding, with the titling on the spine bright and golden, and the brown cloth covered boards are clean and undamaged; no soft corners.
