First-hand account of an illegal 1985 trip to Chile made by film director Miguel Littin, who had been permanently exiled from his homeland after General Augusto Pinochet's 1973 military coup. Posing as a Uruguayan businessman, Littin spent six weeks clandestinely documenting the effects of the repressive police-state on everyday life. The Spanish-language edition of this book was impounded and burned in 1987 by the Chilean Interior Ministry. Translated by Asa Zatz. Octavo. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket.
