In 2006, he won the Innovation Award in Applied Research, and was the first Charles W. Moorman Alumni Distinguished Professor in the Humanities from 1991-1993. Kolin has published 40 books and over 200 scholarly articles on Shakespeare, modern American and African American drama (especially the plays of Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee, Adrienne Kennedy, and Suzan-Lori Parks), and business writing with such presses as Cambridge University, Routledge, St. Martin's, Houghton Mifflin, Cengage/Wadsworth, University of Alabama, University Press of Mississippi, Peter Lang, G.
