These two were the daughters of Dr. Lyne Stivens, a close friend of Haggard, and his personal physician. Stivens name appears in Haggatd's books including A Farmer's Year, Rural England, and The Days of My Life. First British edition in red cloth covered boards, gilt stamped spine and cover, decorated end pages, frontispiece, 16 illustrations by Gordon Browne, two color title page, contents and illustration pages. Eight pages of New Fiction ads on coated paper followed by an eight page publishers catalog both dated 7.06 as called for. Scott 47; Whatmore F30.
