Description: Inscribed by both Houser and Perlman on the title page. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Boards are in near fine condition with very minor shelf wear. Glossy white pictorial dust jacket with gray lettering on cover and spine. Jacket is not price clipped. Some scratching and scuffing; minor shelf wear and creasing to edges; mild soiling. Tight binding and clean interior. Includes reproductions of nearly 300 works, with 132 in color, as well as historic photos. Numerous items are laid in: a magazine about the All-Indian Pow Wow held in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1960, which is also signed by Houser; an invitation to a book-signing party; a brochure about a sale of Houser's sculptures that was held following his death; and two newspaper clippings. This is the first major book on the life and work of Allan Houser (1914-1994), a Chiricahua Apache sculptor who was one of the most renowned Native American artists of the 20th century.
