Description: Black cloth. A primer of modern heresy. Nice copy, with sporadic light spotting in little faded, nicked dustwrapper. Inscribed by the author "to Kenneth Pickthorn from T.S.Eliot. Shrove Tuesday 1934." In 1934, Shrove Tuesday was on 13th February. The book was published on 22nd February. Kenneth Pickthorn was a History Fellow at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and contributed reviews to The Criterion when T.S. Eliot was editor. A pre-publication inscribed copy of Eliot's controversial work which other than a second impression was not subsequently reprinted. Rarely found inscribed.
