Interior is very clean and complete; front hinge weak. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: This is the life story of "Montana Allen", a typical old-time Westerner and one of the founders of Billings, Montana. His narrative was the result of upwards of a quarter century of loving participation in the hunt for both game and Indians. It preserves the record of a true pioneer, who besides being a trusted leader in Plains immigration, filled in odd moments with the occupations of express messenger, stock raiser, blacksmith, dentist, crack rifle shot, and Indian fighter. LAID IN ARE TWO PHOTOGRAPHS OF AUTHOR: 1) POSING IN SUIT WITH FRATERNAL PINS, BEADED BANDOLIER, AND HOLDING A RIFLE; 2) PHOTOGRAPH OF HIM IN SAME CLOTHES AIMING AT A STUFFED BEAR IN FRONT OF A FAKE BACKGROUND OF MOUNTAINS, STREAM AND VALLEY. This authentic narrative is often found in poor condition with repairs made to the spine; this copy being no exception. References: 6-Guns #26, Howes A-165 Graff #49 Jennewein #102,Dustin 1.
