La Pérouse [Jean François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse 23 August 1741-1788? was a French Navy officer and explorer whose expedition vanished in Oceania] M. De La Peyrouse [Don Antonio Maurelle and Captain G. Vancouver]. A Voyage round the World. Performed in the Years 1785, 1786, 1787, 1788, abridged from the Original French Journal of M. De La Peyrouse, which was lately published by M. Milet-Mureau, in Obedience to an order from the French government. Description: Contemporary old leather covers with faded red morocco title label to the spine. 8vo. 7¼'' x 4½. Contains [xvi] 336 printed pages of text with folding map and three engraved plates. The half-title leaf has a piece of paper pasted across the top and printed T. U. George, below this the name 'Blandford' is by hand. Corners and ends rubbed, front hinge cracked, light age toning to the text block edges. La Pérouse was first published in English in 1785, Maurelle's circa 1780 and Vancouver's work in 1798.
