Condition: Good

Description: A signed "second printing before publication" copy. Evidence of old liquid damage causing some blue bleeding to the first twenty pages or so near the spine. There is also another liquid stain, this one in the bottom corner and likewise covering about 20 pages early in the book. Old library sticker pulled from the jacket's spine but no other sign that this was once a library book except for a bookplate from the Bryant-Dakin family on the cover verso. This copy from the personal library of the South California author and historian Susanna Bryant Dakin and presented in her memory by family members to the University of California library at Santa Cruz in 1969. A flawed signed copy, but one with a very interesting history.
