One Of The Lawrence's Own Copies: Ownership Signature Of Lawrence's Friend And Neighbor Ruth Swaine (Frieda Spells Her Name "Swayne" In Her Letters, As Does Goyen, And As Such She Enters Posterity), Dated 1934, And Presentation Inscription To Her "To My Brilliant Teacher From Fr.- L-", And Later Inscribed By Swaine To Writer William Goyen "And Now, 1954, To Our Brilliant And More [Underlined], Bill- Ruth". William Goyen And His Friend Joe Glasco Arrived In Taos In 1947 And Were Allowed To Build A House On Her Property. They Became Friends. In 1956, Goyen Was Intimately Involved In The Events Of Frieda's Last Day. Condition Of Book Is Good, Wear With A Few Tiny Frays, Gilt Very Bright But Cloth Faded; Dust Jacket Browned At Edges, Very Browned On Spine, Colors Not Faded, Not Price Clipped, 1/8" Loss Along Top Of Spine And 1/8 V-Chip At Top Of Front Panel And At Each Of Two Upper Tips.
