Description: hardcover, light blue cloth with full vellum backstrip, 3/4 style with gilt lettering to spine. top edge gilt., cloth has light wear to corners and edges, some uneven fading, one water stain to back cover at bottom. vellum has some light brown mottling. a bit of waviness to top/bottom edges of first/last few sheets. some faint spotting to fore-edge. book has been carefully cleaned. no writing or owner markings. sturdy binding and hinges.; "this edition, numbered and signed by the author, is limited to one hundred and twenty-five copies." this is number 45 and signed below by rickman in pencil. under the frontispiece is an original pencil sketch, initialed by rickman, of 2 ducks on the wing over a patch of reeds.; 150pp., 11 color plates, 23 b/w plates.; scarce thus. Some light foxing to endpapers frontispiece and preliminaries, occasionally elsewhere. Very good. Limited edition of 125 copies numbered and signed by the author, including a pencil remarque of a duck initialled by Rickman beneath the frontispiece. No 108/125.
