Description: This volume, a part of the larger collection of leather-bound Zane Grey fishing titles from Derrydale Press, was actually written by Grey's younger brother, R.C. Grey. Like the others in the collection, it is fully bound in leather (black, in this case), with embossed gilt design, illustrations and lettering, gold outer page edges, photographic endpages, and ribbon marker, a gorgeous production. It is signed by Dr. Loren Grey (Zane Grey's son), on the limitation page, and is numbered 1012 (out of 2,500 produced). This copy has just a few very minor imperfections: a couple of corners are very mildly bumped, there is a single 1/4" patch of rub wear near the upper right corner of the front cover, and there are a few tiny white spots on the lower edges of the covers (from paint on a bookshelf, no doubt). All else is in Very Fine condition. A gorgeous copy, whose incredible photograph of a leaping swordfish on the first endpages, is worth the price of the book alone. Please note that this is one of six Derrydale Press editions of Zane Grey books from the same set that we are listing at this time: the others are "Tales of Southern Rivers", "Tales of Swordfish and Tuna", "Tales of Fishes", "An American Angler in Australia", and "Zane Grey's Odyssey".
