Front board depicts iconic scene of characters riding elephants by W. H. Drake; spine features scene of viper and mongoose. Cover protected in thick clear sleeve. Flat navy endpapers, sharp. Pages generally very good, clean w/moderate bowing; no writing. First and last endpapers, especially title page, frontis and tissue guard w/some fox. Bright gilded text block at all sides. String-bind very good, square; hinges intact Illustrated throughout with engaging, dynamic, and decorative imagery of J. L. Kipling, W. H. Drake, and P. Frenzeny.
