Illuminated, with several prints per volume and tissue-protected tinted frontispiece (different on each volume). All volumes solidly bound. Pages are unmarked and only a little tanned. Each volume contains insert page of instructions on how to open a book. Ex-owner name faintly on FFEPs. Some pages of Volume XIII (Index) still uncut, and some have been cut with more skill than others. Gray cloth covers are worn at edges and spine covers are darkened.
