Price: US$2000.00 + shipping

Condition: Fine

Description: Essay by Helen Gary Bishop. Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($15.00), rubbed at the surface, a few small closed tears at the edges. Black buckram with silver gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound, clean internally. A collection of eighty-five "seemingly casual" pictures of women that are at once "insightful and provocative, amusing and empathetic." In her accompanying essay, Helen Gary Bishop writes, "Garry Winogrand has done more than record artful compositions of beautiful breasts and bodies. I believe he is genuinely attracted by the dynamics of the female being. But with the unerring instinct of the artist he has caught the conflicts of the feminine creature: the body as object vying with the self as person."
