Description: 310pp. Octavo [20.5 cm] Tan cloth covered boards with a black ink stamped title on the spine. Good. The spine ends are bumped and the corners are very slightly bumped. The covers are darkened along the hinges. There are numerous very small light moisture stains on the top edge of the text block. The endsheets are very heavily darkened and discolored. The pages are mildly browned. The dust jacket is in fair condition only. The edges are creased and have numerous losses. The deepest loss is 1 inch deep, and the widest loss measures just under 1 inch wide. The spine is very heavily faded. The jacket is also rubbed, and has large moisture stains. The moisture satins are darker on the internal, non-visible side. The largest moisture stain is on the reverse side of the spine, and measures 8 inches tall by 1 inch wide. Wodehouse debuted in the literary world first as a free-lance writer, contributing humorous stories to Punch and the London Globe, where he had a column called By the Way. Most of Wodehouse's stories were first serialized at the Saturday Evening Post.
