Description: Sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copy of a museum exhibit catalog, a retrospective of the work of William Gropper, minor to moderate wear of covers and text-block, but with neither underlining nor highlighting. Perfectly readable, usable copy. The artist William Gropper was born on December 3, 1897 and passed away on January 3, 1977. He was an American cartoonist, painter, lithographer, and muralist, politically, way left-of-center, and contributed his satiric art works to The Revolutionary Age, The Liberator, The New Masses, The Worker, and The Morning Freiheit, among many others. 104 black-and-white and duotone illustrations on 128 pp. Complete with an Introduction by August L. Freundlich and with artist statements, too. Remainder mark, unobtrusive.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
