Description: Folio (12 2/8 x 9 2/8 inches). Half-title. 24 chromolithographed plates (some loose). Contemporary olive green pictorial bevelled cloth, gilt, all edges gilt (extremities a bit worn). First edition. "In the autumn of 1884 a happy party left Denver for a thirty days' trip in the mountains of Colorado.". Along the way Thayer gathered the wild flowers that she saw and painted them, accompanied by a pastoral account of the expedition. Later published as "Wild Flowers of the Rocky Mountains".
