Copy 59 of 80 (95), signed by Macgregor and Flower, in quarter green Oasis leather and green paper over boards with gilt title to spine, in a slipcase of green paper-covered boards. A large and lavish production from the Whittington Press, printed on old stock of Sable and Watt handmade paper acquired from the Oxford University Press. John Randle, writing in David Butcher's second volume of the Press Bibliography, states 'If one is allowed to have a favourite amongst one's own books, this is certainly one of the contenders'. The labour-intensive pochoir illustrations were hand-stencilled by Macgregor in two to four colours directly onto the paper, without any printed key. A very small edition for a major Whittington production, limited by the quantity of paper stock available - a beautiful book of real character. Near Fine (slight fading to the backstrip), in Near Fine (slight fading around the extremities) slipcase. Butcher 108.
