Description: A very good copy of this scarce first edition. The book has no markings or inscriptions, just slight split and chipping to top of spine. The very fragile jacket is complete, apart from the spine being missing and a few small pieces around the edges.

Description: First Edition (first printing). 8vo. viii + 72pp. Decorated paper-covered boards with black-lettered paper spine and title labels. Boards a little worn at the spine ends, with some light spotting to the edges, half-title and to occasional leaf margins. A very good copy in dust wrapper, tanned at the spine panel, creased in places and with about a third of the spine panel missing and several much smaller areas of edge-loss. A one-page note by the author precedes fifty-two poems, with a printed dedication to Edward Marsh. A slip of paper bearing an inked former owner name has been pasted to the front free endpaper. 1,000 copies were published. Higginson A8.

Description: Small Octavo. Limited 1/1000 copies. While this copy is embossed with "presentation copy" it is not signed. 71(1)pp., bound in fuchsia and black patterned paper over boards, double red paper labels lettered in black; spine lightly sunned, portrait photo-illustration of the author mounted as frontispiece below written "In Royal Academy May 1969". A near fine copy in a very good dust jacket with slight fading at spine, and with a very small notation (illegible) on front panel. Graves was an English scholar, poet, and novelist who was a close friend to fellow poet Siegfried Sassoon.
