Description: First UK edition. Originally published in the US by Dutton in 1949. The spine is a little darkened and there is a little rubbing to the edges and the corners. The page edges are browned with some scattered dark spotting. Heavy spotting to the endpapers and some spotting to the adjacent pages and the pages are a little browned but generally unmarked. No jacket. First printing.

Description: Red coloured cloth covered boards with a red and black coloured illustration to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel back strip with black coloured titles to the back strip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of author (as a very strange alien) to the rear panel. The story of Keith Winton who finds himself thrust into a parallel universe where he has to drop his mundane façade to become a hero to not only save the universe he finds himself in, but, perhaps even one he left. Rubbing of the book corners with softening of the back strip edges. A slight cock of the spine and there is a little erosion mark to the top right hand corner of the front panel. Light browning and faint foxing of the text block edges, foxing a little heavier to the top text edge. Faint offset tanning and foxing to the end pages though there appears to be only very occasional foxing spots internally. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels; with, the front fold over crease having a 4 inch tear, with some part missing to the fold over edge side. Sunning to the back strip with handling marks to the rear panel. The verso of the dustwrapper shows a little bleeding of the cloth cover. First English Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
