Description: This magnificent anthology was published "to pay homage to the combined 100 years association Floyd Gottfredson and Carl Barks had had with the Disney organization." Gottfredson drew the Mickey Mouse comic strip from 1932 to his retirement in 1975; after a few years as animator and story artist at Disney, Carl Barks wrote and drew the Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comic book stories from 1942 to 1966. 72 pages are devoted to the Mickey Mouse Sunday page by Floyd Gottfredson, the definitive Mickey Mouse artist. These strips, from 1932-1936, are all reproduced their original published size in color using the original color proofs as guides. An additional 72 pages feature Mickey Mouse daily strips by Floyd Gottfredson. All strips reproduce their original published size with color added using subtle color schemes devised by Mike McCormick and painted by Olyoptics. The 3,100-copy limited edition includes several features not in the trade edition sold in bookstores: 1) the text of a four-hour interview with Barks and Gottfredson; 2) a 7" diameter picture disc with a noteworthy five-minute segment of the interview; 3) a 32-page section in color of Carl Barks' storyboard drawings for an uncompleted Mickey Mouse cartoon titled Northwest Mounted; and Barks' only Mickey Mouse comic book story The Riddle of the Red Hat in color. [There was also a Gold Label edition, limited to 100 copies with an original drawing inside.] This limited edition is larger than the trade edition and the comic strips are reproduced the same size as they appeared in the newspapers of the 1930s.
