Volume 1 shows moderate foxing throughout, Volume 2 thoroughly clear and unfoxed; Contents both volumes clean, no markings, no "thumbing" to pages, many page edges still unseparated (therefore unread), bindings & hinges tight; boards & spine vellum quite clean, gilt spine lettering sharp & bright. Volume 1's outer slipcase edge-rubbed w/ bottom panel strip detached; both volumes' outer slipcase's paper spine label browned. xxxii, 208 pp. + 263 pp., illus., tissue-protected frontis. portrait, plates, fascimiles. Volume 1 includes a second title page printed on vellum, as issued with the Society's Holland handmade paper edition of the set.
