Fore and lower page edges untrimmed and dusty. 336pp. An account of the author's simple living in natural surroundings over two years in the 1850s. He lived in a self-built cabin at Walden Pond on land owned by Ralph Waldo Emerson. During the time he made a number of precise scientific observations. Undated ca 1886.
