Condition: Poor
Description: First UK edition containing two novellas: Visions of Gerard (114pp) and Tristessa (77pp). First UK publication of the first novella while Tristessa had appeared as a paperback original from World Distributors in 1963. Visions of Gerard was originally published in the US by Farrar, Straus and Company in 1963 while Tristessa was a paperback original from Avon 1960. Ex-library copy. Jacket is covered in sticky backed plastic and firmly stuck to the front and rear pastedowns. It is quite an attractive copy externally with good colouring to the front panel and the spine but there is some yellowing and staining to the rear panel but described as poor because of what has been done to it. Light browning to page edges with some small dark marks to the top edges. There is a library stamp on the front free endpaper and some staining to the bottom of the front free endpaper. There is also some staining to the bottom of the title pages and to one or two other pages within the book. Jacket design by William Belcher. First printing.
