Description: 1956. No Edition Remarks. 118 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. Orange cloth. Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Black and white photographic frontispiece. Binding remains firm. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Front free endpaper cut out. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends with splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed.

Description: The Loving Eye A Novel by William Sansom (1912 - 1976) a British novelist, travel and short story writer known for his highly descriptive prose style. First edition. After the war, Sansom became a full-time writer. In 1946 and 1947 he was awarded two literary prizes by the Society of Authors, and in 1951 was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Published by the Hogarth Press. The Hogarth Press was founded in 1917 by Leonard Woolf and Virginia Woolf. In 1938 Virginia Woolf relinquished her interest in the business and it was then run as a partnership by Leonard Woolf and John Lehmann until 1946, when it became an associate company of Chatto & Windus. In a cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light wear to extremities and the odd mark to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright but with occasional slight foxing, heavier to endpapers. Very Good
