Description: Hardcover with illustrated DJ. Brick colored cloth over boards with gold lettering on front board and spine. Title page dated 1934. Copyright page dated 1931. 80 pages. DJ is lightly faded with multiple open tears along its top edge. Illustration by Rockwell Kent on front cover of DJ. Bottom left corner of front flap of DJ has been cut away. Boards are lightly faded around edges. Gold lettering on front board and spine is still shiny and legible. Deckle edge pages. Pages are neat and tidy with more illustrations throughout, all in good condition and clean. Binding strong and tight. Very Good condition. Description: Clay cloth with gilt lettering, 8vo, 80 pages, illustrated throughout by Rockwell Kent; head and tail of spine turned in, sweet inscription on front free endpaper, pages age toned; dust jacket quite toned, spine has been repaired with scotch tape on interior and exterior, spine itself is grubby, tape present on creases and corners as well, now protected in mylar cover. A handsome copy of this first release of Shakespeare's Venus & Adonis illustrated by Rockwell Kent that was not a limited edition.

Description: Hardcover, has a slight lean to the binding, bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, light sun toning to the spine and edges, and a previous owner's plate to the front pastedown. Overall, a solid, tight, Very Good copy in a Good+ dust jacket, which has short chips withs one creasing to the spine ends, edges and corners, as well as sunning to the spine with some toning to the cover edges, and rubbing with a tiny snag torn to the spine. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
