Description: Leather-backed tan cloth. Tall quarto. 81pp. Reddish-brown cardboard slipcase. Illustrated by Rockwell Kent. Copy #297 of 1175 copies signed by Rockwell Kent. This copy is also inscribed by Leo Hart to noted book editor, Saxe Commins. A worn copy with much chipping and wear to the leather spine which lacks several pieces. The cloth covers are very good with some light soiling. The text is very good and clean. The slipcase is good with a short split at the bottom and some edge-chipping.

Description: 8 x 11 in. Quarto. Brown calf with linen boards. Signed by Kent on the limitation pg, copy 1092/1250. Condition is VERY GOOD+ ; leather supple, joints excellent. Some small marks and scuffs to spine. Covers very clean with no shelf wear. Binding tight, textspotless. The publisher used folded sheets and the pgs are uncut where there is no need to cut them, i.e., no printing on those pgs. Original slipcase is a bit rough, sunned, edges chipped, one joint started, rear lower end broken but it doesn't affect the overall solidity of the case much at all. RK. RGR.

The leather spine is in excellent overall condition with just a touch of scuffing and edge wear to the head and tail. Light edge wear/bumping to the covers. Description: Red cardboard box containing 21 individual matted plates with acetate overlays. These plates reproduce Rockwell Kent's illustrations for "Venus and Adonis" and were issued thus to accompany the deluxe edition of the book (limited to 75 copies). They are offered here separately from the book. Each mat has "The Printing House of Leo Hart" printed in the lower inside corner. The plate are in very good condition. Many of them have come loose in the mat and have old glue stain marks in the upper (unseen) margin. The visible portion of each plate is clean and free of any markings. The acetate overlays are all present and have some light browning. A few of the mats have some light tanning and soiling. The box is in good condition with some fading and wear. One corner is chipped and torn and both covers have old tape marks across the middle.
