Description: Hardback, 190mm x 125mm black cloth boards, silver gilt titles, first edition, 191pp. Good +++/Good. Owners inscription. Spine and boards clean, block also clean if a little darkened with age. Block edges just a little grubby from handling but marking or discolouring. Previous owner signature in green biro on front endpaper. Dustwrapper (now protected) has wear around edges, chipping at ends of spine and a single nick at base of rear. Rear is also darkened and discoloured at top, but overall, with protection, very presentable. First UK edition of Leonard's "taut, dramatic story with few characters but a clear-cut issue" - later made into a 1971 western featuring Burt Lancaster in the title role.
