Description: SIGNED to the Limitation page by the author. Limited to 234 copies, numbered and signed by the author, this is no. 197. Printed on handmade paper. Appears unread. Interior has light sporadic foxing primarily to the top edge of the text block otherwise unmarked. Quarter bound vellum with paper covered boards. Gilt titles & date to spine are clear and legible but the spine is somewhat soiled. Corners are rubbed and worn. About a third of the rear fore-edge is rubbed & worn. Gilt to the top edge is moderately faded. Fore and bottom edges of the text block are untrimmed. De la Mar was a well known British poet and novelist and wrote children’s literature under the pseudonym Walter Ramal.

Description: 1925 Hodder and Stoughton (London), two mounted color plates ('Rosebud' and 'Rumplestilskin' - lacking the third plate called for, 'Catskin') in 8 1/4 x 13 inches tall black card wrap covers, printed (in black and red ink) title label to front cover, each 5 3/4 x 7 7/8 inches tall plate mounted on black backing sheet with gold captions to each. Plates printed on archival quality, soft white, heavy cotton rag paper with archival inks. Moderate to heavy soiling, creasing and edgewear to covers, with foxing and a half-inch edge tear to the title label. Slight to moderate soiling, rubbing and edgewear to the two backing sheets. Despite these detractions, a rare portfolio with two near fine Kay Nielsen plates worthy of framing. ~V~ [1.0P] Two color plates illustrating two of Grimm's fairy tales, by renowned Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen (1886-1957), from his acclaimed illustrations for Hansel and Gretel, and Other Stories by the Brothers Grimm. Years later, Nielsen was known for his work illustrating Disney's Fantasia.
