Condition: Near Fine

Description: xviii, (2), 279pp., 28 beautifully engraved plates by Henry Keen. Introduction by T. E. Lawrence. The original publshers black cloth; the front board illustrated in ornate, gilt as is the spine. British artist Henry Keen, printmaker, painter, and lithographer, was mostly known for his illustrations of Oscar Wildes "Dorian Gray" and Websters "The White Devil and the Duchess of Malfi". Though he was in every sense a fantastic lithographer and his work betrays an educated background, very little is known of his life or career, both short lived: He was born in 1899; he died on June 26th, 1935. A lovely copy lightly soiled and a small tear at the top of the spine being the only flaws.
