These three works were usually published separately.Illustrated in colour throughout, illustrations ranging from full-paged depictions of nursery rhymes, to decorative borders.'Opera' is a charming collection of nursery rhymes for children, all put to music, including 'Girls and Boys', 'The Mulberry Bush', 'Oranges and Lemons', and more.Likewise, 'Bouquet' is also a collection of nursery rhymes put to music for children, such as 'Hot Cross Buns', 'London Bridge', 'Polly Put the Kettle On', and more.'Own Aesop' is a reworking of Aesop's fables, worked into rhymes for babies and young children. Aesop's fables are a collection of ethical fables, guiding in religious, social, and political themes.Illustrated and arranged by Walter Crane. Walter Crane was known for being an artist and book illustrator, and was one of the most influential children's book creators of his time. He often illustrated children's books, including editions of 'The Frog Prince', 'Baby's Own Aesop', and 'The First of May: A Fairy Masque'. He was an admirer of the Pre-Raphaelites, Italian Renaissance, and Japanese art.Printed by Edmund Evans. Evans was a wood-engraver and full-colour printing, and worked to produce many classic children's books.Evans and Crane begun working together in 1863, and the begun collaborating in 1851 to produce two or three toy books for children each year for over ten years.Collated, complete. In the original publisher's quarter vellum binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, vellum is discoloured and marked, as is usual. Lighter marks to the cloth. A few small cracks to the joints and tail of the spine, and three small holes of worming to the rear joint. Light bumping to the extremities. Front hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots, mostly to the margins. Good

Copiously illustrated and decorated in colour by Walter Crane and printed by Edmund Evans. Original vellum-backed gilt decorated brown cloth, top edge gilt. Binding is sound (hinge between endpapers open but holding), pages are clean with a very occasional light fox mark, corners are slightly bumped and vellum slightly soiled - overall a very good copy.
