Spine tilted, soil on cover, front board curved outwards a bit, corners bumped, staining/foxing/tanning on every page and the endpapers, illustrations sharp, text clean, binding tight.

Description: 1st 1927. Almost very good condition. Oblong format. Paper covered stiff cardwraps. Full-page colour illustrations. Spine and corners bumped, 0.5" loss to base of spine. Some marks to covers. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Some foxing and fingering to page margins. Front pastedown is a bit grubby and there is evidence of erased pencil scribble to front free-endpaper. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Finely illustrated with line drawing on the title page and 20 full page colour lithographs by Elinor Darwin accompanying the verses of Bernard Darwin. Original beige paper covered boards with wave, fish and border decorations and reproduction of one of the book's illustrations in blue on front cover. A very good, bright and clean copy with small amount of chipping to the top of the spine and minimal rubbing and bumping to the extremities.

Original publisher’s colour illustrated paper covered boards. Boards lightly sunned and with a couple of small marks to front board, top corner very lightly bumped. Some offsetting to endpapers and a scattering of light foxing to fore-edge. No dust jacket; now in a protective Mylar sleeve (removeable). Clean and bright internally; a very good copy. Joyfully illustrated throughout with bright full-page colour illustrations. This is the second Mr. Tootleoo story, written by Bernard Darwin and illustrated by his wife Elinor. Bernard was the grandson of the naturalist Charles Darwin, and was best known as a golf writer. Description: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Wonderfully illustrated in color is this oblong (7 1/2" X 10 1/2") childrens book bound in a graphic blue and ivory printed cover. Comes with blue and black pictorial dust wrapper that has degraded to be basically two pieces (the front and rear panels) with chipping and loss to edges and spine. If not for a SOFT ripple to paper covered boards I would say the book is fine. Copyright page states " second impression" 6s. Scarce with dj.
