John Steinbeck. To a God Unknown. Covici Friede, 1933.

Price: US$800.00 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: The very rare second issue of To a God Unknown by Covici Friede. Come to think of it, the first issue is also very rare. The book is surprisingly bright and clean for its age. Beige cloth and green printing look much newer than one might expect from a 1933 book. Noticeable shelfwear at head and heel of spine and corners, in places wearing through the cloth. Front endpaper has been replaced due to cracking of the original endpaper. The dust jacket is darkened and has some soiling as well. Reinforced at head and heel of spine long ago, and a tape repair of a tear is visible. Cracking along flaps and some edgewear. Despite all this, the dust jacket is complete and looks good in a Brodart cover. $2.50 price intact. Goldstone and Payne A3b
