Special Edition (reprint from 1974 Knopf edition) in dark blue-green faux leather covers (termed leatherette by publisher), all edges in delicate silver, with silver cover design (to both covers and spine) by Jennifer Dossin and interior, blue-tinted art by Herbert Tauss. Decorative endpapers echoing the cover in blue and black. As New and Unread. Three raised bands to spine and pages sewn not glued into binding. All edges silver. Printed on acid-free 60 lb. classic vellum paper. No dust jacket, as issued. Text block is bright white, quite tight, crisp, straight and square, with no markings of any kind, other than a 1" scratch to the bottom edge. Binding is blue-green faux leather, with silver design to both front and back boards and silver title, etc. to spine, and all corners square and sharp, and a scratch across the back board. See photos. 355 pages. 5 7/8" x 8 1/2". A beautiful collector's copy of a great George Smiley espionage novel. NOTE: Some copies are bound in full leather rather than leatherette. They are distinguished by bound-in silk moire page marker. This copy does not have such a marker. Book weighs 0.7 kg., so with box may require extra postage for international shipment.
