Description: Very good, first edition book in very good dust jacket. Pumpkin colored cloth covered boards with paper label on spine. A spare label is included. Upper external page edges similarly tinted. Spine and external edges are sunned. Upper edge at head of spine is crimped, lower edge at tail of spine has horizontal crease. Fore-edge corner tips are bumped - see photos. Lower page edges are untrimmed. Foxing on external side and lower page edges. Previous owners' names impressed in the upper right corner of FFEP. Internal foxing on end papers, several first and last several pages, and occasionally in the margins of the text, else internally clean. Text block is sound. Dust jacket is soiled overall, less so on inside flaps. Spine is heavily sunned and has a few small stains. Chips across most of upper edge at head of jacket spine and with loss of up to 5/16". Tail of jacket spine has loss of 1/2" by up to 3/16" in the back corner. All fore-edge corners are rubbed, with minimal loss to the lower corners; the upper right corner on front panel has a 1/4" closed vertical tear with adjacent loss 3/16" by 1/8". The upper left corner on the back panel has a similar closed tear and loss. The upper edge of the front panel has several horizontal creases toward the right corner. The fore-edge folds are sunned and soiled and scuffed by not rubbed through. The price of 7s. 6d. NET is on the center of spine.
