Faulkner, William. These 13. Jonathan Cape & Harrison Smith, NY, 1931.

Price: US$50.00 + shipping

Description: 358 pgs., 8vo. The stated 2nd printing, author's 7th book,September 1931. An unusual specimen in that it lacks a cover, and has had a serviceable manilla wrapper glued on as a substitute. The 2 free end-papers with a blue geometric design are present, but edge-chipped. Inner pages are clean and the book is still securely bound, making it a good candidate for a leather binding. Top edge stained dark gray-blue, a touch of cockling but no stains on a few pages, so maybe the covers were detached due to an old soaking. Couple penciled dates on rear end-paper may be evidence of past library use, but there are no lending library markings. Priced accordingly with the faults. Very good condition, text block only (no dust jacket or cover).
