Description: This little book is the Biographical Edition of the works of Robert Louis Stevenson with a preface by Mrs Stevenson. It contains 345 pages with eight pages by Mrs. S. The condition of the book is near fine. The pages are clean and free of all marks, tears and folds. There is a book plate belonging to Pat Jenks on one of the free pages before the title page with "A form Scholarship prize for best scholarship in the Lower School. 1924" The red leatherette cover is stamped in gold on the front and spiine. It is free of soiling and rubbing. The corners are sharp and the binding is tight.

Description: First printing. Octavo (23.5cm). Green cloth, titled in gilt on spine; 327,[1]pp; frontispiece portrait. With an autograph letter tipped in (now detached). Straight, lightly rubbed, with stain to recto of frontispiece where letter was attached: Very Good. Colvin was Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum, and a close friend of Robert Louis Stevenson; he prepared collected editions of Stevenson's works and letters for publication. The letter, rubber-stamped 10 June 1912, reads: "Dear Sir, Several publishers have approached me about a book of reminiscences; but for the present it is not my intention to entertain any scheme of the kind. Yours faithfully, Sidney Colvin."
