Description: A beautifully four volume set of of The Works of Oliver Goldsmith Complete in four volumes. With 7 full page plates. Oliver Goldsmith was an Irish novelist, playwright and poet, who is best known for his novel The Vicar of Wakefield , his pastoral poem The Deserted Village and his plays The Good-Natur'd Man and She Stoops to Conquer. He also wrote An History of the Earth and Animated Nature. Uniformly bound in a full calf binding with gilt detailing. Externally worn with heavy rubbing and wear to spines. Lacking six of eight spine labels with the remaining two suffering loss. Loss to head of the spine of volume I. Front hinge of volume I strained with frontispiece and endpaper detached but present. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are generally clean and bright throughout with the occasional spot and offsetting at plates. Good Only

Beautiful original cloth binding with gold embossing on the spine and ornate blind embossing on the covers. Paper slightly browned due to age. The volumes are in a neat, beautiful, good condition.
