Pages: clean, bright, tight, purple topstain, f.e. and b.e. deckled; hinge starting but intact at pp 80-81, edges lightly tanned, a few erasable pencil editorial marks by Dr. Prall (who apprently disagreed with Jeffers meter and punctuation!) Cover: purple paper over boards, black cloth spine, gilt logo front, gilt titles front and spine; light shelfwear, bottom corners bumped.

'Raymond.' inscribed in ink on front endpaper, and small stamp heralding 'the Poets' Corner' on inside back cover. No other marks noted in text. Thick paper stock and deckled edges. Nice copy.

Description: Second printing, five months after the first. Bookplate of collector Clifton Waller Barrett, small, light stain on front fly, and spine lettering a trifle rubbed, else near fine, lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by Jeffers on a tipped-in leaf to the author and occasional hobo: "To Jim Tully, with admiration for his powerful and sincere work. Robinson Jeffers." Unlike most authors, Jeffers seems to have often provided inscriptions meant to be tipped into his books. An attractive copy with a nice association.
