Description: Stated First Printing. Near fine, unclipped, unread and not remaindered. Interior is clean and unmarked, free of any bookplates. Printed on Curtis Tweedweave Ivory paper. Bound in robin’s egg blue Bancroft Lynnene cloth. Few inconsequential blemishes to the cloth and the slightest hint of toning to the top edge of the front board. Bright gilt titles to spine. Corners are sharp and square. Yellow stained top edge. Unclipped dustjacket has a couple of tiny blemishes to the front flap and the slightest bit of discolouration to the interior flap extremities. Now protected in mylar jacket. It’s a beautiful copy, illustrated by Don Bolognese. Faulkner’s only children’s story, written in 1929 and unpublished until 1964.

Neat ownership name and date on the front paste down. The dust wrapper is a little rough along the bottom else is in near fine condition. I exhibits the first state price of $3.95 and the 4/67 code. Known in a single copy originally typewritten and bound in 1927 by the author, this is the first publication of Faulkner's tale of magic and enchantment.
