Heavily faded spine, nearly illegible. Gilt spiderweb decoration on front. Moderate edgewear/rubbing. Bumped corners. The pages are yellowing but still clear and clean. Description: The Comstock Publishing Co. Itaca, NY. 1918. Looks like First Ed. Dark Green Cloth hardbound with gilt lettering and pictograph of spider web. Slight edge and spine wear, very light soil to boards. Inside front end paper is a bit loose - due to someone thinking it was an end paper. Former owner Ex Libris label on same. The rest of this book is very clean and tightly bound and the papers are of exceptional quality. Many Illustrations in both black and white and color. Frontispiece has very nice photographic plate of a wing of a Nymph of Nemoura, one of many similar plates. Preface by John Henry Comstock, Entomological Labratory, Cornell University, November, 1917. Full TBI. And Bib. at back. From the title Page:"The Wings Of Insects An Exposition of the Uniform Terminology of the Wing-Veins of Insects and a Discussion of the More General Characteristics of the Wings of The Several Orders of Insects.
