Description: A scarce signed, limited edition copy of this collection of short stories by Walter de la Mare. Limited edition of seventy five copies, of which this is number fifty eight. Signed by de la Mare to the colophon. Printed on English hand-made paper. Published the same year as the first edition. Walter de la Mare was a British author and poet, perhaps best known for his children's work, such as his poem 'The Listeners'. Mare was also a notable writer of ghost stories and wrote a number of supernatural stories. Several of these ghost stories are found in this collection of short stories, such as 'A Revenant' and 'Phsyic'. Many of the works found in this work were first published serially in magazines such as 'The Talisman', 'The Lady's Realm' and British newspaper 'The Times'. In the original yellow cloth binding. Externally very smart with just a few light handling marks to the boards. Slight sunning to the spine.Slight bumping to the tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound. Several pages remain uncut including the contents page. Signed by the author to the colophon. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
