The Emil referred to is his friend Emil Schnellock, artist and teacher and, as Miller explains in his preface, this was originally written by hand for Emil. One is addressed to Henry Miller and concerns the manuscript for Miller’s Reflections on the Maurizius Case (1974). The other is addressed to Miller’s secretary, Connie, and concerns the manuscript for The Waters Reglitterized (1973). Two significant letters documenting an important literary relationship. One letter shows a little paperclip-related rust on the back; otherwise, they are both in VG condition.

Slight soiling and rubbing to top edge of first leaf; slight browning to few edges; else a very well-preserved manuscript item.
