Description: Light brown cloth spine with gilt titles and tan paper-over-boards with paste-on title label; 4to; 188pp; illustrated with plates of b/w photos and drawings, text drawings; lacks dust jacket. A cornerstone work on hunting the African elephant. In this, the author's first book, he proposes "small bore rifle shooting for elephant, killing them with carefully placed shots at close range." (Czech p15) Also, small chapters on buffalo and lions. The front cover shows some staining and moderate wear; rear cover a tad soiled and internally quite clean, with all plates and images VG or better and text block bright.
