Publisher's original light-blue boards in red pictorial dustwrapper illustrated by Pauline Baynes which is priced 10s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for). Map end-papers. A near fine copy (slightly dusty top-edge, the merest hint of foxing to the page block edges, very slight fading to the tip and tail of the spine). Boards exceptionally bright and clean. No inscriptions. Internally clean. The fragile VG+ dustwrapper is complete with a trace of fraying/wear to the head of the spine and a few, minor, unobtrusive, tiny, closed tears to the edges and the corners. Unusually, the fugitive red spine of the dustwrapper is much brighter than normally encountered with NO FADING. Endpapers, frontispiece and numerous full page black and white plates by Pauline Baynes. The third book in the Narnia series. A nice copy. NO RESTORATION OR TOUCHING-UP. NO PRICE-CLIPPING. The binding is tight and square. The end papers are clean with No inscriptions, No bookplates, No owner names and No bookstore stamps. The internal pages appear as clean, crisp, bright and flat, with No tears, No bent pages, No handling marks, No stains, no foxing and No writing. Beautiful highly collectible example of this title, internally appearing as unread. Please see images. The scarce original price clipped dust jacket has benefited from very slight restoration to the outer spine tips by an expert paper conservator and as such presents as a near fine example. The jacket has strong vibrant colors with none of the otherwise typical fading to the spine which often bring the red tones to a light beige. Instead this jacket has strong vibrant colors with very slight toning to the rear panel, otherwise with no rips, no chips, no edgewear, no stains, no fading, and no rubbing.
