Price: US$5000.00 + shipping

Description: Octavo, cloth. First edition. Palmer Eldritch, a negative messiah, brings an unpleasantly warm future Earth (180-degree weather in New York, portable cooling units, resorts in Antarctica) a new drug, Chew-Z, which will truly allow the user to fulfill all his desires. But their "genuine new universes" all have a common god, and that god is Palmer Eldritch. Anatomy of Wonder (2004) II-335. Barron (ed), Horror Literature 4-96. Jones and Newman (eds), Horror: 100 Best Books 61. Pringle, Science Fiction: The 100 Best Novels 44. Sargent, British and American Utopian Literature, 1516-1985, p. 294. Survey of Science Fiction Literature V, pp. 2269-73. A fine copy in fine dust jacket with just a hint of rubbing to black background ink at spine ends. A very bright example of the jacket with none of the often encountered fading of orange and blue lettering on spine panel and front panel entirely free of scuffing to the black ink background. An excellent copy. (#155544)
