Bannerman, Helen. The Story of the Teasing Monkey by the Author of "Little Black Sambo" and "Little Black Mingo". Frederick A. Stokes Company, New York, 1907.

Price: US$1380.00 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: 12mo. Cloth backed pictorial boards showing Jocko, the teasing monkey, hanging from a tree and pulling the tails of two lions. 142pp. Illustrated in color throughout and printed on one side of the page only. Gift inscription "from Aunt Florence" dated 1909. Trace of soil; bottom edge worn else this is a near fine copy. The dustwrapper is present: Off-white paper printed on the upper panel with the same information as is on the title page. It is soiled and faded, and lacks pieces at the head and tail of the spine and at the fold. We can find no previous instance indicating that this title had a dustwrapper, and it is not even mentioned in the bibliographies. First editions of the Teasing Monkey are scarce to begin with; copies in dustwrapper are basically unheard of.
