LE CARRE JOHN. Le Carre Omnibus comprising Call for the Dead and Murder of Quality. Gollancz, London, 1964.

Price: US$508.86 + shipping

Description: (London: Victor Gollancz Ltd 1964). First UK Edition. Publisher's red boards with gilt spine lettering. A fine bright copy in a near fine price-clipped D/W. The D/W does not have the "X 25" to the rear panel although is, otherwise, identical to the first impression D/W in every respect. The D/W has NO TONING, NO STAINING and NO DARKENING and is a SUPERIOR EXAMPLE of a FRAGILE DUST WRAPPER and needless to say, NO RESTORATION. A very nice copy indeed. This is the Author's fourth book which is a re-issue of his first two books neither of which had sold particularly well in their original first editions. With the success of "The Spy who Came in from the Cold" the publisher (Gollancz) wanted to capitalise on the huge success and issued this Omnibus edition. Nothing like as scarce as "Call for the Dead" or "A Murder of Quality" but still an uncommon book. Photographs/scans available upon request.
