Copiously illustrated in black & white throughout. Bookplate of Hugh (Vercingetorix) Brogan (1936 Ð 2019) British historian and biographer, showing nude youth holding a book. He was Professor of History at University of Essex and wrote biographies of Arthur Ransome and De Tocqueville. Ownership signature of John Holms, wealthy owner of Renfrewshire county house Formakin. Very good indeed. Excellent condition.

Description: Octavo. Wrappers. Six issues were projected, but even this modest target was abandoned after only three had appeared. Lawrence's essay ''The Crown'' appears in three instalments and was never reprinted except in heavily revised form in Reflections on the Life and Death of the Porcupine (1925). The other contributors are Matilda Berry and John Middleton Murry. The rear cover of the third issue asks for subscriptions to be sent to S. Koteliansky in High Holborn. All three were printed by I. Narodiczky who produced at least one of Isaac Rosenberg's pamphlets.Staples rusting. A very good set indeed.
